IP – Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP)

One of the many ICC’s areas of work delivering input on a hot issue affecting businesses worldwide whether in developing or developed economies is intellectual property. The Commission on Intellectual Property gathers over 300 business executives and private practitioners from 50 countries to formulate ICC’s intellectual property policy.

An important initiative of this commission has been launched in 2004, named Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP) to combat product counterfeiting and copyright piracy worldwide.
ICC Albania, in April 2014 joined this project under the unified anti-counterfeiting brand, “Fakes Cost More, I Buy Real”.

On the 26th of April 2014, in the World day on IP, ICC Albania with the collaboration of the Albanian Book Society participated at the National Book and Visual Arts Festival through a stand by promoting the initiative “Fakes Cost More, I Buy Real”.

This project was able to be initiated through the collaboration of Sigal Uniqa Group Austria, Boga & Associates and LPA Law Firm.
